The wattage of most appliances is usually stamped on the bottom or back of the appliance or on its nameplate. The wattage listed is the maximum power drawn by the appliance.

  • Blender: 300–1,000 W
  • Ceiling fan: 50–100 W
  • Clothes dryer: 1,800–5,000 W
  • Dishwasher: 1,200–2,400 W
  • Electric blanket: 50–200 W
  • Hair dryer: 1,200–1,875 W
  • Heater (portable): 750–1500 W
  • Iron: 1,000–1,800 W
  • Microwave oven: 750–1100 W
  • Refrigerator: 350–780 W
  • Television (42" LCD/LED): 70–200 W
  • Vacuum cleaner: 500–1,500 W
  • Water heater (40 gallon): 4500–5500 W
