Power Your Future With OTEC Scholarships

Scholarships

Education powers the leaders of tomorrow. As part of Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative's ongoing commitment to community, youth, and education, OTEC is proud to offer scholarships to our member-owners and their families!

OTEC scholarships are funded through donations and unclaimed capital credits. Tax-deductible contributions can be made directly to the scholarship fund through the OTEC Member Foundation. Options for donating include contributing capital credit retirements, making a one-time gift, or establishing a named scholarship fund. A named scholarship fund allows donors to specify support for students in particular career fields or communities.

OTEC-EOU Rural Scholarship Program

Four local students who plan on attending Eastern Oregon University have a chance to have their entire tuition and fees paid for four years at EOU, if those students continue to meet certain criteria. Deadline to apply is March 1, 2026.

Graduating High School Student Scholarship

Graduating high school seniors have a chance to earn $5,000 to further their education and training beyond high school! Deadline to apply is March 1, 2026.

Returning College Student or Adult Scholarship

If you're a returning college student or an adult looking to start school, apply for the chance to earn $5,000 to help further your education and training! Deadline to apply is March 1, 2026.

Trade School Scholarship

Interested in learning an in-demand and well-paying trade? OTEC offers $5,000 scholarships for those interested in attending a trade, vocational, or technical school.

Apex Elite Line Academy Scholarship

Interested in a great-paying career in the electric utility industry? OTEC is proud to partner with the new APEX Elite Line Academy, operated by Baker Technical Institute (BTI) - a premier line worker school located in the heart of Baker City, Oregon - to offer scholarships for those who want to pursue a career as a lineworker. APEX Elite Line Academy is now accepting applications to their first cohort scheduled to begin June 8^th,2026.

Those interested in attending lineworker training at a school other than APEX Elite Line Academy are encouraged to apply for the OTEC Trade School Scholarship.

Memorial & Named Scholarships

The OTEC Member Foundation offers Memorial and Named Scholarship opportunities that are funded through memorial donations and contributions from individuals, families, and community supporters. These scholarships are administered by the Foundation and are not funded by Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative.

Fenn's Towing & Repair Scholarship

This scholarship is for those pursuing trade school scholarships with related studies to obtaining and maintaining certifications for diesel and automotive mechanics, CDL certification, and welding.
