Due to concern for the health and well-being of our member-owners and the communities we serve during the COVID-19 pandemic and following federal and state guidelines barring gatherings of large groups, Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative’s 2020 Annual Meeting, scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2020 will be held virtually at 10:30 a.m.
The OTEC Board President will preside at the meeting and conduct business as necessary.
Three positions on the OTEC Board of Directors are up for election. Election results for Position 1 (Union County), Position 2 (Baker County) and Position 3 (Harney County) will be announced during the Annual Meeting.
Candidates on the ballot are:

Candidates:
Aletha Bonebrake – Incumbent
Tamyra Keller
Position 3 – Harney County
Candidates:
Robert Cargill - Incumbent
Laurie Draper
All candidates are running to serve a three-year term.
Please watch for your election ballot in the mail starting in May and return using the prepaid colored envelope by May 22. As instructed on your ballot, please place your ballot inside the inner envelope marked Ballot Secrecy Envelope. Place that envelope inside the prepaid colored envelope and make sure the colored envelope is signed and sealed. If you’re unable to mail your ballot, please drop it off at the secure drop boxes located at your local OTEC office no later than May 29 or drop off at OTEC headquarters in Baker City on May 30 before 10:00 a.m. Included with the ballot is a voter’s guide including candidate profiles. Candidate profiles and other election details also appear in the May issue of Ruralite and on our website.
Members voting by mail will be entered to win a $500 energy credit. The winner will be announced during the Annual Meeting. All member-owners are entitled to vote in the election.
