Residents of Union will soon see some tree trimming work within city limits.
Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative announced that their contracted tree trimming service, The Tree Service, will begin trimming work within the Union city limits on Monday, March 4. OTEC said the work is expected to last up to four weeks, though that could be dependent on weather.
OTEC only removes trees that pose a serious threat to safety and electric service. Trees that grow too close to power lines can cause outages, start fires or create other hazardous conditions. Not only does this work help maintain electric safety and service reliability, it is required by state and federal regulations.
